Mayor John DeStefano, Jr.
From The Desk of The Mayor
 Dear Friends:
I’d like to acknowledge the Department of Parks, Recreation and Trees for the recent clearing of vines, poison ivy and overgrowth in East Shore Park. Residents have taken notice of the efforts to maintain the beauty and accessibility of the park and have written to me expressing appreciation for the department’s hard work. I encourage residents to continue to email me, drop in my office during a Mayor’s Night In or send me a letter with suggestions or comments about what’s happening in our City.

Here’s what’s happening in New Haven:

Today, Pilot Pen Tennis and the United States Tennis Association joined with leaders in the New Haven community to announce the upcoming repairs to the tennis courts in Edgewood Park and East Shore Park. The City has committed $155,000 towards the improvement of these tennis courts, while the USTA has donated $25,000 in addition engineering and logistical expertise. As tennis continues to grow in New Haven, this project will provide City residents with safe and accessible facilities.
